The Lahore Press organized by the Sunni Action Committee against the arrest of Mufti Muhammad Shahid Rafiq Madani and Maulana Muhammad Saleem Faizi, including the head of Tehreek-e-Labeek or Rasoolullah (peace be upon him) Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Asif Jalali and Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan central leader Qari Muhammad Zawar Bahadur. A protest rally was held till Awan Iqbal Club.
Led by Maulana Farman Ali Haideri, Dr. Saghir Naqshbandi, Sardar Tahir Dogar, Sheikh Nawaz Qadri, Maulana Muhammad Ali Naqshbandi, Maulana Naseer Ahmad Noorani, Mufti Tassaduq Hussain, Maulana Khalil Mehrvi, Sahibzada Murtaza Ali Hashmi and other leaders.
Scholars and elders and a large number of workers were also part of the rally.
During the rally, slogans were chanted demanding release of the arrested leaders and at the end of the rally, the leaders of the Sunni Action Committee issued a joint statement saying that the peace of Pakistan is dear to every one of us. We do not believe in the policy of sabotage, siege, and confrontation. This country has been built by our greats. We will continue our efforts until the last breath to maintain this country. But those who insulted the mothers of the believers, the daughters of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the Companions and the three caliphs and caused harm, are going public.
They should be arrested and punished.
Muharram, especially Ashura Day, will be celebrated with great devotion and respect this year as every year, and scholars and elders will address the conference titled Shaan Ahlul Bayt, Greatness of Ahlul Bayt, Love of Ahlul Bayt, Message Hussain, Fiqr Hussain
۔Ahl-e-Sunnat and Jamaat are in fact the lovers of Ahl-e-Bayt and Sahaba, therefore we condemn every step of the government in which Ahl-e-Sunnat is being walled off.
The statement on which Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Asif Jalali was imprisoned for betraying the views of Ahl-e-Sunnat by some scholars and shaykhs belonging to Ahl-e-Sunnat has been the belief of Ahl-e-Sunnat and Jamaat for fourteen centuries. Tehreek-e-Labeek chief Yar Solullah Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Asif Jalali, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan central leader Qari Zawar Bahadur Mufti condemns the unjustified arrest of Shahid Rafiq Madani and Maulana Saleem Faizi and demands film and honorable release of the leaders.
